Who is Truth and Peace For?
Students are eligible to apply for Truth and Peace, provided that they attend a Free Will Baptist Church and are in the 9th – 12th grade. Truth and Peace seeks students who are maturing in their relationship with Jesus, are actively involved in their churches and youth groups, provide leadership and service within their local church.
Leadership is influence, not holding a microphone.
Students who exhibit Christian maturity and lead others in following Jesus Christ are encouraged to apply.
What is the Structure of Truth and Peace?
While at the conference, students are divided into teams and tracks. The number of years a student is accepted into Truth and Peace determines the track he or she is in.
A first year student is a 101 track. A second year student is a 201 track. A third year student is a 301 track. And a fourth year student is a 401 track.
Throughout the conference, each track receives specific and intentional training in Christian leadership based upon their track year.
In addition, students are also divided into teams. Each team is led by a third year (301) student. Each team has two second (201) students. And each team has three first year (101) students. Throughout the conference, the teams learn together, study Scripture together, and play games together. 301 students are tasked with leading the team throughout the conference.
Fourth year (401) students serve as conference staff interns. Their responsibility is to serve others in the conference through model servant leadership to other students, while assisting the staff in leading day to day operations of Truth and Peace. These students have exemplified what it is to be a Christian leader in their Truth and Peace experience.
